What can I expect on my tour?
Our tours are knowledge-based. You will be given detailed information about the beer brewing process and learn about the nuances of different beer styles. Your New Orleans Brews Cruise guide and the staff of the breweries you will visit are very knowledgeable and will gladly answer any questions you may have.
What are the age requirements?
You must be at least 21 years of age to tour, and a valid ID is required.
What is the proper drinking etiquette?
We will be in operational breweries so the ability to control yourself is paramount for you, your fellow tour members, and the facilities’ safety. We want you to have a good time, but within reason.
NOTE: If New Orleans Brews Cruise guests arrive intoxicated at the tour departure location, it is at the cruise guide’s discretion whether to allow them on the tour vehicle. If you are turned away due to intoxication, you will still be charged in full for the cruise. Also if you start drinking earlier in the day and become intoxicated during the tour you may not be allowed back on the vehicle or into the next location and may have to arrange for your own return transportation.
How long is the tour?
Tours on average last four hours, but will vary depending upon the itinerary. Be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes before scheduled start time to ensure an on-time departure. The New Orleans Brews Cruise bus will not leave any later than 15 minutes after the scheduled departure time. While we strive to stay on schedule, circumstances beyond our control may alter our plans. Please be aware that our return time is flexible.
How many beer samples can I expect to receive during the tour?
Typically you will receive multiple samples at each brewery during the tour. You are not obligated to drink each sample provided. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU ARRANGE TRANSPORTATION OR DESIGNATE A SOBER DRIVER BACK TO YOUR HOME OR HOTEL AT THE END OF THE TOUR. Your guide will happily provide you with local taxicab information at your request. New Orleans blood alcohol level limit for DUI is .08, and the average male will hit a .05 level with two craft beers in one hour. You may not consume alcohol on the bus. There will be coolers on the bus to store your growlers or other purchases.
What time should I arrive for my tour?
Please arrive for your cruise approximately 10-15 minutes early to ensure an on-time departure. The New Orleans Brews Cruise bus will not leave any later than 15 minutes after the scheduled departure time.
What is the tour minimum head count?
There is a four-person minimum for each tour. In the event the minimum number of cruisers is not met, tour is subject to cancellation. If your tour is cancelled, you will be contacted by New Orleans Cruise prior to your tour date. You will be refunded or offered a different tour date.
What is the refund/cancellation policy?
Cancellation occurring prior to 72 hours will be eligible for a refund of tour fare minus card processing fees. Cancellation occurring within 72 hours of tour will not receive refund of tour.
New Orleans Brews Cruise reserves the right to cancel tours due to unsafe weather or unfavorable roadways. Consideration for such circumstances are determined by the tour guide/driver. At time of tour cancellation due to said circumstances, all available efforts will be taken to notify the scheduled customers. Every effort will be made to reschedule the reserved tour.
Refunds are granted only for cancellations occurring prior to 72 hours of scheduled tour, and if tour is cancelled by New Orleans Brews Cruise. Tours may be cancelled at the discretion of New Orleans Brews Cruise due to harsh or severe weather resulting in unfavorable and unsafe road conditions.
Note: Passengers that appear to be intoxicated at beginning of tour, at the discretion of the tour guide/driver, will not be allowed on the tour and no refund will be applied.
Can we bring alcohol and/or food on the van or bus?
You may not consume alcohol on the bus. There will be coolers on the bus to store your growlers or other purchases. Food may be brought on board, as long as you clean up your mess! We recommend that you eat a meal before your tour as you will be visiting multiple breweries and tasting several styles of beer. We will provide water and light snacks on the bus.
What is appropriate attire to wear for my tour?
We will be in operational breweries so please dress appropriately. Open-toed shoes are NOT permitted for safety reasons in some of the breweries, so please wear closed-toe shoes! Leave your flip-flops and sandals at home please. Tennis shoes are a great option as the floors of the breweries are often wet.
Can we purchase merchandise at the breweries?
Yes. Most of the breweries offer a selection of t-shirts, pint glasses, growlers etc., for purchase. A cooler is available on the bus to keep your brew cold until the tour is over. You may not consume alcohol on the bus.
Do you offer special pick-up and drop-off arrangements?
Generally, we do not make special arrangements. We may make exceptions for private or custom tours. Please call for more information.

Can we pay cash or with a credit card when we meet?
Yes, we do allow walk-ons. Just give us an advance call at 504.517.4671 to let us know. Cash will be accepted if exact change and credit cards can be processed on site.
