Join us for an afternoon of biking, discovery, and craft beer on our Bike and Brews tour in partnership with our bicycle-loving friends at Summer Feet Cycling. Now featuring two departures and itineraries available nearly every day through November!

Portland is a great city for biking, and for craft beer. And with so many craft breweries and other producers located near safe biking paths, we have worked with our partners at Summer Feet Cycling to expand our Bike and Brews tours in Portland this season!

Celebrating their 20th year in business, Summer Feet Cycling has been offering bicycle-based vacations in some of the most beautiful places on earth. They started right here in Maine, and offer the best and broadest selection of tours in the state.a group of people standing next to a bicycle

One of their tours in Portland is called Bike and Brews which is available every day (except for Sunday) with start times of 11:45 am and 3:00 pm. Tickets must be pre-purchased through Summer Feet and are only $69.00 per person all-inclusive. Private tours for groups are available upon request and could be held at other days and times if needed, just ask!

You do not have to be an avid cyclist to take this tour. In fact, the routes are designed for easy group biking, not many hills (if any at all), and will be moving at a leisurely pace.

You don’t even need to bring your own bike! One of the best parts of this tour is the ticket includes a bicycle fitted for you and a helmet provided by the folks at Summer Feet.

If you are worried about being placed in a large group, these tours are limited to 6 bikers for personal safety and attention.

On the day of the tour, you will meet your guide at the Portland Encyclepedia on Commercial Street in Downtown Portland. There you will find a bike from Summer Feet that is sized and adjusted for you, a sanitized helmet to use (you can bring your own if you prefer), and a bag with water along with a light snack that has plenty of room for any purchases you want to make along the way.

After meeting your guide, checking out the bikes, and a brief safety talk, it will be time for you to hop on and pedal as a small group towards the first brewery.

The bicycle-based tour guides will ride along with the group to each location, where a selection of craft beer samples that are included in the ticket price will be ordered.

Along the way, we will make a few stops to learn about Portland’s rich history. There is plenty to talk about from the Maine Law to the Rum Riots to Prohibition.

At each brewery stop, we will learn a little bit about each company, meet the people responsible for delivering quality craft alcohol, and sample their various products.

After biking our way to each of our stops, together we will head back to the starting point with a better understanding of Portland’s thirst for outstanding craft beer and other alcohol.

Light snacks and water will be available for each rider. This tour will operate in “light to moderate” rain and shine, so plan accordingly. But if the weather will drastically affect our tour, tickets are fully refundable in the event of a necessary weather cancellation.

See Portland and it’s craft alcohol industry in a whole new way by taking a Bike and Brews tour!
