The Maine Brew Bus acquires Maine Beer Tours

The Maine Brew Bus, LLC announced that it has acquired Maine Beer Tours, LLC, a similar company providing all-inclusive tours to breweries, wineries, and distilleries in Greater Portland.

The purchase will allow The Maine Brew Bus increased passenger capacity and expansion of tour concepts, as well as provide new itineraries for the millions of people that visit Southern Maine. Adding a bus to the existing fleet will also allow The Maine Brew Bus to have new transportation options for their thirsty guests.

For Maine Beer Tours, the purchase will allow for the husband and wife team to focus more on their family, which includes two daughters who are both very excited by the idea of spending more quality time together, especially during the summer months.

“We are very excited about this acquisition of Maine Beer Tours. We have admired their hard work with regard to local beer tourism, and adding their resources to our company complements our existing offerings,” said Zach Poole, founder of The Maine Brew Bus. “We will now be able to provide new tour options to more people, and we look forward to build upon the foundation that Mark, Nichole, and their team have accomplished over the past several years”, Poole added.

It is expected that The Maine Brew Bus will add at least five new employees as a result of the acquisition.

In advance of the purchase, The Maine Brew Bus hired Dan Keller as Operations Coordinator and Ellie Yahn as Administrative Coordinator. Keller comes to the team from Rising Tide Brewing Company where he has served as a Tasting Room Ambassador for the past three years. Yahn was previously at The Thirsty Pig where she was instrumental in organizing the Portland Beer Week events held in November of 2016.

The Maine Brew Bus also announced that their expanded summer and fall schedule has now been finalized. Beginning in late May and running through October, multiple tour options will be available daily from their new home at Old Port Spirits at 79 Commercial Street in Downtown Portland. Tickets for all tours and activities are on sale now at www.themainebrewbus.com

About The Maine Brew Bus and Maine Beer Tours

The Maine Brew Bus was founded in September 2012 by Zach and Allison Poole, who realized that people visiting Portland might enjoy all-inclusive tours on bright green school buses that provide a behind-the-scenes look at Maine’s craft breweries, distilleries, wineries, and more. Tours are led by expert guides in addition to a knowledgeable non-drinking driver to ensure the best possible experience for participating guests as well as for the businesses with which they partner.

Maine Beer Tours was started by the husband and wife team of Mark and Nichole Stevens in late summer of 2012. Their company was built on the premise of supporting Maine small businesses by giving their guests an unforgettable experience in the local craft beer scene. With the sale of their business, Mark and Nichole will continue to support all of the local producers they’ve grown to love and look forward to seeing everyone while hanging out at local events and tasting rooms
