Welcome to our Team: Alexa

We have added another key person to our growing faculty. Meet Alexa, a Massachusetts native with a fondness for Maine and a strong craft beer pedigree. Learn more about her in today’s blog post.

When you grow up in a household where your father is a craft beer fan, you might have not paid attention to what was in the fridge.

But when your father also writes about craft beer on his own blog (read the Beer-Journal.com), then you probably know quite a bit more about the specifics about what’s happening with the revolution of craft brewing.

Alexa joined our team earlier this year and is trained as a driver. Soon, she will be fully trained to assist our guests as a guidance counselor.

Learn more about Alexa in her own words:

I grew up in Harvard, MA and graduated with a B.A in Psychology from UMass Amherst. My family often vacationed in southern Maine, and I recently relocated here for graduate school to earn my masters in social work at USM.

I currently work at Northstar Learning Center as an Education Technician and School-Based BHP. Northstar is a preschool for children with a variety of special needs.

I am also a photographer and took the photo for a book published in the Library of Congress.

I got into beer because of my dad (Hop Head) who has a craft beer blog and mysterious identity. At the end of 2015 I became a Cicerone Certified Beer Server which is when I was connected with the Maine Brew Bus.

I wanted to get involved in Maine’s ever growing beer scene and knew the Maine Brew Bus was exactly what I was interested in!

Join us in welcoming Alexa to our team. Look for her behind the wheel on our Pours and Pirates tour today, or on other tours in the future. Cheers!
